AlNiCo Magnets by PML – 65 Years of Proven Performance

AlNiCo (Aluminum-Nickel-Cobalt) magnets are known for their excellent high-temperature stability and consistent magnetic performance. Manufactured using advanced induction melting and precision casting processes, followed by controlled heat treatment, these cast AlNiCo magnets deliver enhanced coercivity, strong energy product, and precise dimensional accuracy. With decades of proven performance, they continue to serve aerospace, instrumentation, and industrial applications reliably.

Ingot Manufacturing Process

Melting of virgin elements to make ingots of IN625 alloy by Vacuum Induction melting (VIM)

Raw Material Weighing

High-purity raw materials are accurately weighed and prepared to achieve the desired AlNiCo alloy composition, ensuring consistency and performance.

Melting & Pouring

The charge is melted using advanced induction melting techniques and carefully poured into sand or shell molds to form the required shapes.

Cleaning

Post-casting, components undergo cleaning to remove surface impurities and residual materials, preparing them for further processing.

Heat Treatment

Cast magnets are subjected to controlled heat treatment, including heating above the Curie temperature, to develop optimal magnetic properties.

Magnetic Orientation (For Anisotropic Grades)

Directional magnetic properties are achieved by aligning the material during processing, enhancing performance in specific applications.

Temper Aging

Aging at controlled temperatures (around 600°C) improves coercivity and energy product, stabilizing the magnetic characteristics.

Grinding & Finishing

Precision grinding ensures tight dimensional tolerances and surface finish as per application requirements.

Magnetization (If Required)

Magnets are magnetized to specified levels depending on the end-use, ensuring readiness for application.

Testing & Packaging

Finished products are thoroughly inspected, securely packed, and dispatched as per customer specifications.

Key Properties & Advantages

High Thermal Stability

Operates effectively up to 540°C (1,004°F)

Corrosion Resistance

Naturally resistant to rust, suitable for harsh environments

Mechanical Integrity

Superior mechanical strength compared to other magnets

Strong Magnetic Output
